Summer Reading Challenge: All ages, birth through adult can register. Starting June 1, log time to earn prizes! Go to www.lpld.lib.in.us to register using our new program Beanstack app (https://lpld.beanstack.org/reader365 ).  Any time spent reading or listening to books counts. Attend programs to earn even more rewards! Prizes will be awarded at level 1: 120 minutes, level 2: 300 minutes and level 3: 600 minutes. D&D at the Library: Calling all adventurers! Join us in the café area on Tuesday evenings, June 1, 8, 15, 22 & 29, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., to play 5th Edition Dungeons and Dragons. We offer a friendly, low-pressure environment for beginning players and veterans alike. For the summer sessions, track down great beasts and terrible monsters on behalf of the Great Guild, making civilization safe against the Wild. We provide snacks and character sheets. Among Us (teens): Teens! Come to the library for virtual game nights! We’ll be playing the free online multiplayer game Among Us! Take on the role of Crewmate or Imposter in this animated game of teamwork and betrayal! Never played? That’s okay! We’re happy to show you the ropes as we play together. Yin Yoga: Yin Yoga is a gentle stretching practice involving seated poses that are typically held for 3 to 5 minutes. It is designed to promote the health of the joints, specifically in the hips and spine. This class is led by Lawrenceburg Public Library District staff member and 500 Hour RYT Michael Spears. Don’t Bug Us: In May of 2021, billions of cicadas will emerge and descend upon parts of the Midwest and Atlantic Coast. Come on by the Lawrenceburg Main Library to learn more about these bugs and the role they play in our environment. In partnership with Purdue University Extension, we will offer a fun hands-on BUG lesson for kids and teens of all ages. Monthly Meditation: Watch this video starting Monday, June 7, and learn how to relax with a guided meditation! Mr. Eric’s Interactive Kids Music: Get ready to make some music! Join long-time musician and performer Mr. Eric in singing popular children’s songs, and grab some instruments to make some music of your own! Indiana Moneywise: Investing: A representative of the Indiana Secretary of State’s office will present a series of topics through the Indiana Moneywise program via Zoom presented by the Lawrenceburg Public Library District. Exploradores de Verano! Bilingual storytime: Bienvenidos! Bring your little summer explorer to our bilingual storytime, where they will use stories and songs and rhymes to learn basic Spanish words and phrases, all while developing early literacy and language skills. Backyard Conservation: Beneficial Bugs: Kirsten Carlson, adjunct assistant professor of Biology at Ivy Tech, will present Beneficial Bugs for Your Yard. Some bugs will destroy your garden and landscape and then there are those that help your plants to grow. Barks and Books: Sit. Stay. Read! Dogs make great listeners, and reading out loud to them can improve reading comprehension and confidence. Grab a book and take a paws to read out loud to a trained therapy dog 11 a.m. to noon Saturday, June 19, at the Lawrenceburg Main Library or North Dearborn Branch! Dogs will be at both locations. Dogs are handled by volunteers from Pet Partners of Greater Cincinnati. No registration needed. All ages. Free.

Indiana and the Great Flood of 1913: Author Nancy Germano will discuss her book Indiana and the Great Flood of 1913 which includes photos of Dearborn County.
